Anime Downloadguide There are free English anime fansubs and manga scanlations available on the internet, translated from their original Japanese form by fan-groups and distributed for download by fan-groups. It is commonly accepted to download fansubs and scanlations of anime and manga that are not licensed, translated and distributed by official commercial distribution companies of the same country/language and therefore do not compete with any DVD or TV release. It is because fansubs and scanlations are free advertisement and promotion for the series they are made of, why they are tolerated and why there are rarely taken any steps to prevent fan-groups from distributing their works. However, fan-groups releasing licensed anime and manga have no right to do so and do this on their own risk. I do not wish to encourage anyone downloading licensed anime and manga.
