Long time no see.
I made some changes. I removed the shoutbox some people used to chat
about anime and replaced it with a new bigger and more comfortable Guestbook.
I will still make some changes in its design, but as it already works just
fine, I opened it for public use. To sing the guestbook just click on “Leave
a message”.
What’s more? Spring Season
2008 is coming closer with great show to look forward to like: Code
Geass 2, Kanokon, Special A, Vampire Knight, ToLOVE-Ru, Mirai Nikki and
many more. Check them all out in my season listings and don’t forget to
check out my new reviews once they are done, in case you are unsure which
shows to follow.

The Fall 2007 Season
is slowly coming to an end and with that many great (and not so great)
anime shows are ending as well. Obviously at the same time the Winter
2008 season is coming closer starting early next year in January once
again providing us with lots of new shows and sequels.
A recent tendency that I have noticed is that more and more sequels
to preexisting shows are being produced, which I find to be a good thing
because there is a high chance for shows you liked to be continued. We
all know it`s not fair to make a 13 episode anime out of an 15 volume manga
or a 10 volume novel.
Like every time when a new season is coming closer, I separate all
the shows that will air that season from those that will air later on or
at an uncertain date by opening a new list for the Season thereafter (in
this case Spring 2008).
Don`t forget that those shows listed at the top are Spring 2008 shows.
Those further down still don`t have specific airing dates and a few of
those maybe even have to be moved to the Winter 2008 list as new information
come by in the next 2 weeks.
For those who wonder where I get my information and if everything in
my listings is true, I can say that you guys can pretty much just trust
into the decent accuracy of my lists (except for the genre descriptions
maybe) as I didn`t have to deal with much false information up until now
and because I update my lists daily. And of course if you find any kind
of mistakes or false information you can contact
me anytime and I will correct it immediately.

Fall season brought us several great new shows of which I’m still writing
reviews
of. As I recently started to attend university I don’t have the time to
watch all the new shows and write reviews as fast as I used to do anymore.
If anyone wants to help me out and is interested to work with me on
Animeph by writing reviews, newsletters or making other anime-related contributions,
just contact me. There are no requirements for
joining the Animeph author team other than being an anime fan and being
a decent writer.

I haven’t written any news for some time now, so here I come again.
Fall season is coming
closer and again there are lots of great new anime shows and second seasons
to look forward to. But before that I would like to sum up the highlights
of this season’s shows:
Both Umisho and Doujin Work are certainly great comedy
shows, but that’s mainly because they are based on outstanding manga. It’s
not like those adaptations were made poorly, but they doesn’t really suppress
their manga in any aspect. Still they are definitely worth watching.
Mushiuta is a fantasy show that is rather unique in its content.
There are lots of mysteries, twists and deep meanings. This show has great
potential but it is yet uncertain if it will live up to my expectations.
Potemayo is simply outstanding for being one of the cutest and
funniest shows I have ever seen. There are just so many cute and hilarious
situations and characters.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei also is a great show because of its
funny characters and especially its suicidal main character.
Zero No Tsukaima 2 is as good as the first season was, while
I think the fighting scenes are performed and animated rather poorly this
time. Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan 2 also is as crazy and
funny as ever.
Last but not least, School Days is probably the show which has
stunned me most this season. I already heard rumors of those who played
the game about its main character Itou being an indecisive jerk, while
the game itself is one of the best ever made; and it seems same goes for
the anime. Harem main characters in general do not have a good reputation
in the anime community. However, Itou even tops them all in indecisiveness
and being an asshole. By episode 11 he already had sex with his entire
class and still does not realize what he is doing wrong or how this could
possibly hurt anyone like the numerous girls who consider themselves his
girlfriend. There isn’t any real graphic nudity, but implementing sex into
the story like it was intended by the original game is rare among harem
anime adaptations. School Days is pretty original and outstanding for an
anime show of a genre that has been produced so often that many fans wonder
why it still isn’t losing any popularity. It’s a little bit sad that many
fans transfer faults that a character of an anime possess and see them
as faults of this particular anime, which also happened with Neon Genesis
Evangelion a lot. I hope that this does not happen with School Days as
well because I think it’s a very interesting show, even though Itou is
so bad that he almost doesn’t seem credible as a character. I hope that
the coming last episode will round it up perfectly which would be difficult,
but I don’t really care if it will be a sad, bitter-sweet or happy ending.
Since Fall season is near I will open a new category for the coming
Winter season soon.

So it’s finally official;
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu is to get a second season!!!
Everyone hoped and thought it was just a matter of time for such a
successful show to get a continuation and Rumors about it already existed
months ago, which is why I also added it to my new announced anime section
long ago, but due to lack of any kind of further confirmations and lots
of reactions and questions about it which I got, I decided to remove it
from the list.
Now the long awaited conformation is finally out. A (kind of weird)
promotional video can be found at http://haruhiism.com/.
It might seem confusing to some people, but those who also read the
novel like me will surely understand the meaning of this video.
Airing date is not know yet.

It’s this time of the year again; Anime Summer Season 2007 has finally
arrived and with all those second seasons and promising new shows I’m already
sure to follow at least half of them, while there sure aren’t that many
new shows this season.
Anyway, the first shows are already being subbed and I will try to
write reviews for you guys as soon as possible.
Keep checking by.

This new Spring Season
certainly brought us some very nice new anime shows, but somehow I still
haven’t found one of those few evergreens that would qualify as “this year’s
best” as for this Spring. But as I already said there are still some very
good and funny new shows,
so lets also look forward to all the new announced second seasons of great
shows like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Zero No Tsukaima, Tokyo Majin, Shakugan
no Shana, Genshiken and Code Geass that are to come later
this year.

The first of April doesn’t only mean that your friends and all sort
of sites try to make a fool of you, but it also means the start of the
new Spring 2007 Anime Season.
There are certainly some gems to look forward to. Code Geass will get another
2 episodes and I hope the rumours about a second season will prove themselves
to be true. But I’m glad about the recent announcement of Shankugan no
Shana II TV series (http://www.shakugan.com/), which is set for a Fall
2007 release. Lets all hope that it’s just a coincidence it was announced
on April 1st. And there’s nothing new concerning the rumours about the
second season of Suzumiya Haruhi; all we can do is keep hoping
(please don’t ask me about it anymore; If I hear of something new I’ll
post it).
As you guys might have already noticed I have already opened the new
section for the Summer 2007
anime shows. Don’t forget that as it’s my most recent section it also
contains all sort of shows announced for future release, but only those
shows with a “xx.07.2007” are confirmed to air this summer. As always those
with a simple “2007” are yet to be announced to be released this summer
or some other time in (near) future.
Reviews of the new shows will come soon….and don’t let yourself be
fooled~

The soon-to-come Sring 2007 anime season will bring forth a lot more
shows compared to the previous season. I’m counting 44 TV anime shows just
yet and I bet there are still several more to be announced for this spring.
I in particular am extremely happy about the recent announcements of
second seasons for Beating Angel Dokuro-chan and Code Geass. Dokuro-chan
is one of my favourite comedy shows ever because of its hilarious violent
exaggerated jokes and characters. Code Geass is one of the best Sci-Fi
adventures right now because of its well developed deep story, character
background and character motivations. I couldn’t imagine this great, big
and yet unfinished story to be over by the next 2 episodes and I hope there
will be a lot more episodes to come with the next season.
Airing dates of both shows are yet uncertain, so I guess they won’t
come out this spring.

It’s news-time again, so let’s welcome Haseo as a new member of the
Animeph author team.
If someone else is interested in joining as well, you can still contact
me anytime.
And finally the long awaited Naruto Shippuuden anime is out continuing
with the original manga story line, and yes, it’s as good as we hoped it
to be. You can read my review here.
As I’m creating more and more graphics, they didn’t fit into one page
anymore, so I redesigned those pages a little bit.

Great news! There’s going to be a Hollywood Ghost in the Shell live-action
movie adaptation. Ghost in the Shell has always been a Sci-Fi classic for
its philosophical and psychological content.
As for the updates, I have opened a new section for anime and anime-related
quotes.
There aren’t many yet, but I will continue listing those funny and/or meaningful
phrases and sentences that just burn themselves into your brains.
I’m planning to make various more new sections in the future, so keep
checking by for updates.

First post in the new year.
I hope you all had a great time and will do fine in the future.
Finally the new anime winter season has started! The first few new
anime shows have already aired, which is why I opened a new section for
the Winter Season Anime Reviews. I will write more reviews when more anime
shows are being fansubbed.
Keep checking by.
