News 20.03.2008 by 26.12.2007 by The Fall 2007 Season is slowly coming to an end and with that many great (and not so great) anime shows are ending as well. Obviously at the same time the Winter 2008 season is coming closer starting early next year in January once again providing us with lots of new shows and sequels. A recent tendency that I have noticed is that more and more sequels to preexisting shows are being produced, which I find to be a good thing because there is a high chance for shows you liked to be continued. We all know it`s not fair to make a 13 episode anime out of an 15 volume manga or a 10 volume novel. Like every time when a new season is coming closer, I separate all the shows that will air that season from those that will air later on or at an uncertain date by opening a new list for the Season thereafter (in this case Spring 2008). Don`t forget that those shows listed at the top are Spring 2008 shows. Those further down still don`t have specific airing dates and a few of those maybe even have to be moved to the Winter 2008 list as new information come by in the next 2 weeks. For those who wonder where I get my information and if everything in my listings is true, I can say that you guys can pretty much just trust into the decent accuracy of my lists (except for the genre descriptions maybe) as I didn`t have to deal with much false information up until now and because I update my lists daily. And of course if you find any kind of mistakes or false information you can contact me anytime and I will correct it immediately. 20.10.2007 by Fall season brought us several great new shows of which I’m still writing reviews of. As I recently started to attend university I don’t have the time to watch all the new shows and write reviews as fast as I used to do anymore. If anyone wants to help me out and is interested to work with me on
Animeph by writing reviews, newsletters or making other anime-related contributions,
just contact me. There are no requirements for
joining the Animeph author team other than being an anime fan and being
a decent writer.
13.09.2007 by I haven’t written any news for some time now, so here I come again. Fall season is coming closer and again there are lots of great new anime shows and second seasons to look forward to. But before that I would like to sum up the highlights of this season’s shows: Both Umisho and Doujin Work are certainly great comedy shows, but that’s mainly because they are based on outstanding manga. It’s not like those adaptations were made poorly, but they doesn’t really suppress their manga in any aspect. Still they are definitely worth watching. Mushiuta is a fantasy show that is rather unique in its content. There are lots of mysteries, twists and deep meanings. This show has great potential but it is yet uncertain if it will live up to my expectations. Potemayo is simply outstanding for being one of the cutest and funniest shows I have ever seen. There are just so many cute and hilarious situations and characters. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei also is a great show because of its funny characters and especially its suicidal main character. Zero No Tsukaima 2 is as good as the first season was, while I think the fighting scenes are performed and animated rather poorly this time. Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan 2 also is as crazy and funny as ever. Last but not least, School Days is probably the show which has stunned me most this season. I already heard rumors of those who played the game about its main character Itou being an indecisive jerk, while the game itself is one of the best ever made; and it seems same goes for the anime. Harem main characters in general do not have a good reputation in the anime community. However, Itou even tops them all in indecisiveness and being an asshole. By episode 11 he already had sex with his entire class and still does not realize what he is doing wrong or how this could possibly hurt anyone like the numerous girls who consider themselves his girlfriend. There isn’t any real graphic nudity, but implementing sex into the story like it was intended by the original game is rare among harem anime adaptations. School Days is pretty original and outstanding for an anime show of a genre that has been produced so often that many fans wonder why it still isn’t losing any popularity. It’s a little bit sad that many fans transfer faults that a character of an anime possess and see them as faults of this particular anime, which also happened with Neon Genesis Evangelion a lot. I hope that this does not happen with School Days as well because I think it’s a very interesting show, even though Itou is so bad that he almost doesn’t seem credible as a character. I hope that the coming last episode will round it up perfectly which would be difficult, but I don’t really care if it will be a sad, bitter-sweet or happy ending. Since Fall season is near I will open a new category for the coming Winter season soon. Keep checking by… 08.07.2007 by So it’s finally official; Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu is to get a second season!!! Everyone hoped and thought it was just a matter of time for such a successful show to get a continuation and Rumors about it already existed months ago, which is why I also added it to my new announced anime section long ago, but due to lack of any kind of further confirmations and lots of reactions and questions about it which I got, I decided to remove it from the list. Now the long awaited conformation is finally out. A (kind of weird) promotional video can be found at http://haruhiism.com/. It might seem confusing to some people, but those who also read the novel like me will surely understand the meaning of this video. Airing date is not know yet. 04.07.2007 by It’s this time of the year again; Anime Summer Season 2007 has finally arrived and with all those second seasons and promising new shows I’m already sure to follow at least half of them, while there sure aren’t that many new shows this season. Anyway, the first shows are already being subbed and I will try to write reviews for you guys as soon as possible. Keep checking by. 03.05.2007 by This new Spring Season certainly brought us some very nice new anime shows, but somehow I still haven’t found one of those few evergreens that would qualify as “this year’s best” as for this Spring. But as I already said there are still some very good and funny new shows, so lets also look forward to all the new announced second seasons of great shows like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Zero No Tsukaima, Tokyo Majin, Shakugan no Shana, Genshiken and Code Geass that are to come later this year. 01.04.2007 by The first of April doesn’t only mean that your friends and all sort of sites try to make a fool of you, but it also means the start of the new Spring 2007 Anime Season. There are certainly some gems to look forward to. Code Geass will get another 2 episodes and I hope the rumours about a second season will prove themselves to be true. But I’m glad about the recent announcement of Shankugan no Shana II TV series (http://www.shakugan.com/), which is set for a Fall 2007 release. Lets all hope that it’s just a coincidence it was announced on April 1st. And there’s nothing new concerning the rumours about the second season of Suzumiya Haruhi; all we can do is keep hoping (please don’t ask me about it anymore; If I hear of something new I’ll post it). As you guys might have already noticed I have already opened the new section for the Summer 2007 anime shows. Don’t forget that as it’s my most recent section it also contains all sort of shows announced for future release, but only those shows with a “xx.07.2007” are confirmed to air this summer. As always those with a simple “2007” are yet to be announced to be released this summer or some other time in (near) future. Reviews of the new shows will come soon….and don’t let yourself be fooled~ 09.03.2007 by The soon-to-come Sring 2007 anime season will bring forth a lot more shows compared to the previous season. I’m counting 44 TV anime shows just yet and I bet there are still several more to be announced for this spring. I in particular am extremely happy about the recent announcements of second seasons for Beating Angel Dokuro-chan and Code Geass. Dokuro-chan is one of my favourite comedy shows ever because of its hilarious violent exaggerated jokes and characters. Code Geass is one of the best Sci-Fi adventures right now because of its well developed deep story, character background and character motivations. I couldn’t imagine this great, big and yet unfinished story to be over by the next 2 episodes and I hope there will be a lot more episodes to come with the next season. Airing dates of both shows are yet uncertain, so I guess they won’t come out this spring. 17.02.2007 by It’s news-time again, so let’s welcome Haseo as a new member of the Animeph author team. If someone else is interested in joining as well, you can still contact me anytime. And finally the long awaited Naruto Shippuuden anime is out continuing with the original manga story line, and yes, it’s as good as we hoped it to be. You can read my review here. As I’m creating more and more graphics, they didn’t fit into one page
anymore, so I redesigned those pages a little bit.
06.02.2007 by And yet again some major changes. I renewed the navigation design a little bit and added the new Watch Anime Online section. It’s a list of links to YouTube anime fansub streaming downloads. I’ll add more links later. Further more, I have decided it is time to look for some recruits. Read below for information… Recruiting:

18.01.2007 by Great news! There’s going to be a Hollywood Ghost in the Shell live-action movie adaptation. Ghost in the Shell has always been a Sci-Fi classic for its philosophical and psychological content. As for the updates, I have opened a new section for anime and anime-related quotes. There aren’t many yet, but I will continue listing those funny and/or meaningful phrases and sentences that just burn themselves into your brains. I’m planning to make various more new sections in the future, so keep checking by for updates. 09.01.2007 by First post in the new year. I hope you all had a great time and will do fine in the future. Finally the new anime winter season has started! The first few new anime shows have already aired, which is why I opened a new section for the Winter Season Anime Reviews. I will write more reviews when more anime shows are being fansubbed. Keep checking by. 24.12.2006 by
Merry Xmas to all my visitors and all the anime-fans around the world! This new Xmas-wall is my present to all of you. Next year I will continue to keep you guys updated with all the new announced anime shows and I will keep creating new anime graphics, so keep checking by. Don’t forget that with a new year, there will be also be a whole bunch of new anime shows starting this Winter Season in January. 06.12.2006 by Lots of great new anime shows have been announced, even though not all of them are official yet. There will be second seasons for Ikkitousen, Suzumiya Haruhi, Zero no Tsukaima and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Also the popular shounen anime Naruto will finally, after 2 years of bothersome bad written filler stories, follow the original manga plot again starting early 2007. The story is set 2 years after Sasuke left to seek power from Orochimaru. Sakura is now training with Tsunade to become a medical ninja and Naruto is training with Jiraiya so that he will be able to confront Orochimaru and Akatsuki. Therefore all 3 of them are now training under one of the Legendary Sannin. 22.11.2006 by I’m here again to sum up the updates. So far I have been making new wallpapers, written new reviews and added all the new announced anime shows to the Winter season list, even though many shows won’t actually air this winter. There are also reports stating the highly anticipated and fully animated h-anime-game School Days is about to be turned into an anime. Also just recently Crew Creative, the advertisement agency currently
working for Geneon Entertainment Inc, asked me to promote the US release
of the HELLSING ULTIMATE OVA series English dub. It will be available on
DVD beginning December 5th 2006. Hellsing Ultimate is based on a very popular
vampire action/horror manga and is a promising remake of the Japanese 13
episodes TV anime show Hellsing (11.10.2001 till 17.01.2002). The new Hellsing
Ultimate ova series promises to closely follow the original manga plot
and to cover up the whole story in a satisfyingly high animation quality.
05.11.2006 by I decided to remove the AniDB links from my lists since they often do not have any more info than I have for new shows anyway. I also wrote new reviews for anime shows of this Fall Season and made some new wallpapers I created by fooling around with some screenshots. I’m slowly getting into this and of course there are still a couple of great shows I have not written reviews about yet, so keep checking by. 26.10.2006 by It’s about time again to talk about the recent updates again. A couple of new reviews for this Fall’s anime are up and some changes in the anime lists have beem done. Be aware that as for now there are certain shows listed in the Anime Winter List that actually do not air this winter. If shows are announced to be released without any certain or an unknown airing date, I simply add them the Winter List with an airing date no further defined than “2007”. I will move those shows to the proper List as soon as I open a new Season List category (which would be Spring 2007) and their airing dates are announced. More reviews are to come soon. 16.10.2006 by My hit-counter tells me my review page is visited rather rare in comparison to my anime lists. As a result I changed the list design a little bit. Instead of linking from the anime names to my reviews, I added separate lines (“Read my review >>”) and linked them with my reviews if available. I also added a line with information about those anime’s genre. What’s more? I made some nice new animated anime gifs and wrote some new reviews, but there are still a couple of reviews to come. 10.10.2006 by Once again an update. Many new anime and pics for the Fall and Winter 2006 List. I also made some new animated anime gifs myself. I’m slowly getting into all this Photoshop and ImageReady thing. I know there are a couple of new fansubs out and I will write reviews as soon as possible. Stay put. 06.10.2006 by The Anime Fall 2006 Season has finally arrived!!! But the fansubs are coming rather slow. Still I got 2 new reviews: D.Gray-man and Pumpkin Scissors. Check them out here. I'm also keeping the Season Lists updated. We should keep our eyes open for fansub releases of the latest shows, as they should arrive soon. 30.9.2006 by As the new season starts, there are also many great anime that are coming to an end. So far I think Honey & Clover 2 had the best and most satisfying ending and maybe it even was the best show of 2006. Besides that, the last episode of School Rumble 2nd Term revealed a high probability of a 3ed School Rumble season to follow in which the class will travel to England, which also corresponds to the further plot development of the manga. There haven’t been any official announcements yet, but I’m pretty sure there will be a third season during 2007. And as always, I updated the Fall and Winter 2006 list. The first reviews of the new shows are coming soon. Stay put. 23.9.2006 by I updated the Fall and Winter 2006 list. I also wrote a review about Black Blood Brothers which is one of the first few anime shows of this Fall season that have allready aired. 17.9.2006 by I just played around with photshop a little bit. As you can see there are some changes. I made new buttons and banners which are not to be found on the Links page anymore, but on the Link to me page. I also made some blank anime buttons and banners for you guys to use and edit for your homepages. There is more to come in the future; and as the new anime shows of the Fall 2006 season are coming closer, I will also be working on writing reviews, so keep checking by. 15.9.2006 by I updated the Fall 2006 anime list and added small pics to each anime. Also there's been some great anime announced for the coming winter season like the Bleach movie, a Shuffle TV special, 4 new anime movies about the classic cult anime/manga Neon Genesis Evangelion and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien:Haruka Route, which is a sequel of the in my opinion best anime romance drama ever (Kgne 05.10.2003 till 04.01.2004), based on a different route of the cult eroge of the same name. 10.9.2006 by It's me again. Fall 2006 season is coming closer and closer, so I decided to write some reviews, mainly of some of the new anime, or rather of those which have not even aired yet in order to give you guys a better idea of the highlights that are airing the coming season. Those are only temporal reviews which I based on their source material (manga/games/...), previous seasons of those anime and other background information. I will write some more in the near future and when they finally aired for real, so keep checking by. I also updated the Fall 2006 anime list. 01.9.2006 by Fall season is on its way. Today the Ghost in the Shell TV special aired and there's only 1 month left untill a bunch of hot new anime will rain upon us. I updated the Anime List for Fall 2006 and I will write reviews again once the new anime are out. Don't forget to check out my interview about fansubbing. 30.8.2006 by Dominic von Riedemann the Animated Film writer for the culture website Suite101.com asked me to answer a few question about the practice and legality of fansubbing for his new article. I posted the whole interview on my faq page. Go check it out here. 27.8.2006 by I added a Death Note review for the coming Fall season. Of course this anime has not started yet, but I based my review on the manga source. 22.8.2006 by Added a shoutbox and edited the navigation. 21.8.2006 by Only made some small updates here and there, but I'm glad about my newest link exchange with Panikku. Ongaku from Panukku.com was so kind to make a nice new button pic for me. Thanks a lot. You can check it out here. 18.8.2006 by I added various links the the Links page. I also redesigned this page. I'm still awaiting replies of some of my link-exchange-partner sites though. If anyone is interested exchanging links/buttons with me, just e-mail me. I also added a pic of myself to the Contact page. Go check it out. 15.8.2006 by Made some updates again like adding reviews and updating the Fall 2006 anime list. 10.8.2006 by Added some Spring 2006 reviews again. Just few more to come. 08.8.2006 by Added some reviews again. Check them out in Anime Season Reviews Spring 2006. 06.8.2006 by Added 2 new reviews for the Spring Season 2006. I will write more soon. 05.8.2006 by I wrote some reviews again. I also added ratings (1-10 stars) to all my reviews. Note that those rating are only based on my personal opinion and impressions, which are also often only based on the first few episodes. In my ratings I consider aspects like story, characters, animation and music. I also rate based on if a comedy show actually is funny, if a drama show actually is sad and deep, if a Sci-Fi show actually is authentic and futuristic and if an action or material arts show actually is exciting and feature well performed fights and battles. 04.8.2006 by Added a page for exchanging Links. If you are interested write to: meph-2k@web.de 03.8.2006 by Added Anime Season List for Spring 2006 and Winter 2006/07. I also updated the list for Summer 2006 and Fall 2006. It is not complete yet, but I will edit the list as soon as new information are available. 31.7.2006 by Updated the layout of the Anime Season Listand the navigation. 30.7.2006 by Added a review of Muteki Kanban Musume here. 29.7.2006 by Added screenshots to my reviews. 27.7.2006 by Today I just added a review again. You can go check it out in Anime Season Review. 26.7.2006 by Added google ads and updated the Anime Season List and Reviews. 25.7.2006 by Updated the Anime Season List and Reviews page. 24.7.2006 by Edited the design of the Wallpaper page and fixed the background image. 23.7.2006 by Added Coyote Ragtime Show review to the Anime Season Reviews. 22.7.2006 by Added several new terms to the Anime Vocabulary.
