This list is meant to provide an overview of all Spring 2011 season Japanese new anime releases announced to air soon on Japanese television or to be released as anime DVD/Blu-Ray.
This Spring there are so many new amazing sequels and manga adaptations that highlighting only a few wouldn’t be enough. Also, many might have already noticed that this season I started adding little descriptions on most anime shows with certain airing dates. I hope it helps you guys on getting a better view on what to expect of all those new anime. And don’t forget to check out the new Summer Season Anime List.

There isn’t nearly enough remaining material from the manga to support a second season. Considering how slow the mangaka have been producing chapters we will have to wait at least a year for a second season of HOTD.

Actually there will be a single new highschool of the dead anime OVA episode in april.
And there’s no second seasons of any anime not listed here; or rather not officially yet.

I was wondering about zero no tsukaima for a while as well. Took much longer than the other parts now so one might think there wont be any new sequel.

I was just giving a general answer to several questions above. Fans come here and keep asking about new sequels to their favourite anime shows, but if its not listed here and given I havnt missed any news, there simply won’t be untill they tell us more.
As for FMP: the second and third season was made by KyoAni in 2005. recently KyoAni seems preoccupied with cheap moe comedy shows and I doubt they will pick up FMP again after such a long time. But as they do frequently release sequels of their previous works, its not like we cant hope for it.

I don’t see it happening if its not this year as when i wiki’d it, it said S1 finished december of 2009, and I can’t see a S2 coming out 2 years later…sucks though as I can’t find any chapters of the manga that are past S1 of the anime

Angel beats certainly was one of the best anime in 2010. Superb musik, comedy, and a touching deep and meaningful story.
Yet the plot seem finished and complete after ep13. I dont see any need for a season2. Id had to have a complete new cast.
Theres a special episode 14 and alternate epilogue short. Check those out if you havnt already.

It seems that in many blogs and forums it is said there will be an “Angel Beats 2nd Term” anime airing in spring 2011, a cntinuation with a new cast.
All those blogs however point to the same source as proof. Bigger news sites and also moonphase didnt seem to have taken notice of that. This news already popped up in 2010 so I guess it was a fake rumour that spread around pretty quickly. Seeing how Spring is almost there and big news sites still havnt picked it up.

I believe that Angel Beats second season is delayed instead of Unaired. In one of the magazines Jun Maeda has announced a second season, there should be one this year in the FALL-Season hopefully or if not they may air it next year. Even if they dont air it in japan next year im sure Jun maeda and key wont let us down. A new manga/Anime may be produced and all Key Animations are Awesome

Well, Hitman reborn did hint at a new season, via listing new voice actors on their VOMIC site.

at the bottom, they show voice actors for Enma & the others. Still not certain it will be airing this spring, but I do believe it is coming back. (perhaps in the summer or fall)

That pretty much ended. He defeated the leader of Ragnarok. There are many other points for not needing another season but that’s probably the best. I really enjoyed the series also. However, bringing back something that’s already had a solid ending isn’t very good.

The Manga continues well beyond this point. I could easily foresee another season or two. Maybe with what they did like Inuyasha. The development of the manga right now is tense so I could see it going back to animation.

Man… I hated the Bakuman anime. The animation wasn’t the best, the voice actors were alright, but it was nothing compared to the manga. No feeling… It was kind of corny sometimes and the first episode disappointed me since it was nothing compared to the manga -^-

Though adding a season 2 to Angel Beats only sounds like a mistake to me… The ending for season one was perfect, there really is no need for a second season, even if the show was amazing.

Actually there was a oneshot manga piece about Near when he was older. Apparently another shinigami took a deathnote and gave it to a human and they started killing, but Near quickly said he was not interested in the case because this man was nothing like Kira. The killer then stopped moving from shock for three days and died. At the end, Ryuk said to the shinigami, that the person had to have a strong will and charisma to use the DeathNote and so, Light was one of a kind.
