This list is meant to provide an overview of all the new Japanese anime announced to air soon on Japanese television or to be released as anime DVD/Blu-Ray in Winter 2008/2009.

Merry Christmas to everyone. Not only is Santa knocking at our doors, but so is a brand new anime season. Early January we get a rather moderate amount of new anime compared to other seasons, but there still are some gems to look out for. My early recommendations would be: Maria-sama ga Miteru 4, Minami-ke 3, Maria Holic, KissXSis, Asu no Yoichi and Kuro Kami. My early Spring 2009 list is up as well. Have fun and a happy new year.
